The vaSections command opens a dockable Section manager dialog box from which it is possible to create, delete and edit sections and show the model sectioned by a section line.

The Section manager dialog box is divided in two parts:

  1. Toolbar line
  2. List of sections

1. Toolbar line

New Section

New section
  • Creates a new section in the model, as the vaSection command does.

Delete

Delete
  • Deletes a selected Section in the list. Section views generated from this section line will be deleted too.

Toggle Dynamic Section

Toggle dynamic section

This button turns On or Off the visibility of the 3D model sectioned in real time (Dynamic Section) of a selected Section, in the active viewport.

  • A section must be created to enable the Dynamic section status.
  • When the dynamic section is On, all the VisualARQ and Rhino objects, including closed meshes and polysurfaces, are capped at their sectioned areas and show their Section attributes.
Note

Double-clicking a section in the list turns its Dynamic section status On and Off.

Align Section

Align View to Section

This button does the following actions in the active viewport for the selected Section:

  • Changes the view so it aligns with the section position. (In case of jogged sections, the viewport aligns with their first segment).
  • Turns the Dynamic Section On.

Set Section

This button does the following actions in the active viewport for the selected Section:

  • Changes the view so it aligns with the section position.
  • Turns the Dynamic Section On.
  • Changes the display mode to Hidden.
  • Zooms the viewport to fit it with the section width (in the horizontal limits) and with the position of the existing objects in the model (in the vertical limits).
  • Turns any Level Cut plane off that was enabled in the Level Manager.

2. List of Sections

This area shows the list of sections in the model and indicates which section is shown in Dynamic Section mode. The list is ordered according to the section reference names.

When a section line is selected in the section manager, the corresponding section will be highlighted in the model for an easy identification. Click on an empty area in the section manager panel to unhighlight the section.
